PharmaGuide is a Cameroon-based platform that helps patients discover nearby pharmacies and helps pharmacies manage inventory and schedules. This Privacy Policy explains how PharmaGuide collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, portal, and related services.

If you are a pharmacy, you are responsible for ensuring the information you submit (inventory, pricing, address, and contact details) is accurate and up to date.

1. Data we collect

• Account data (name, email, pharmacy details)
• Location data (only when you choose to share GPS for nearby results)
• Usage data (basic analytics and error logs)

We do not require you to share your precise location to browse the site. Location is used only when you click a GPS/Location button or provide coordinates to search nearby pharmacies.

2. How we use data

• Provide search and nearby pharmacy results
• Authenticate users and secure the portal
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety

We may also use aggregated statistics to understand demand (e.g., common searches by city) to improve service availability and quality.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and protect against abuse. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

The portal may store an authentication token in your browser storage to keep you signed in. If you use a shared device, remember to sign out.

4. Legal basis (Cameroon)

We process personal data to provide and secure the service, to comply with legal obligations, and based on your consent where required (for example, when you choose to share GPS location).

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with service providers for hosting, security, and reliability, or when required by law.

Pharmacies displayed in patient search may show public listing details such as pharmacy name, phone number, address, approximate distance, and open status.

6. Data retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

7. Your rights and choices

You can choose not to share GPS location. Pharmacies can update inventory and schedules. Admins may approve or suspend pharmacies to maintain listing quality.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect data (access controls, encryption in transit, and audit logging where applicable). No method of transmission is 100% secure.

9. International transfers

If we use service providers or infrastructure located outside Cameroon, your information may be processed in other countries. In such cases, we take steps to protect the data using appropriate safeguards.

10. Children

PharmaGuide is not intended for children under the age required by local law to consent to data processing. If you believe a child provided data, contact us.
